MRVN Band Interviews – Strange Days a Doors Tribute Band at the Hilltop Tavern and Inn

The host of Mojave River Valley News, Eric Swanson got a change to interview the Doors Tribute band, Strange Days.

During the interview Eric got the opportunity to spend some time the the late Robert Carsten, the founder of Strange Day.

From a Facebook post: It is will the heaviest of hearts, we notify everyone of the passing of our guitarist and founding member, Robert Carsten. He was a force of nature. He was so incredibly talented and loved performing onstage at every show. He was the soul of Strange Days.

We love you and we miss you, Bob. Robert has some amazing history with the Doors. Below are some facts of some of the band members that he pulled together to create this amazing Doors Tribute Band. JASON TOSTA Jim Morrison Jason has been a professional vocalist for over 15 years and has toured the U.S., Canada, Mexico and South America. He has had the honor of performing with legendary Doors guitarist, Robby Krieger, on numerous occasions. He has also shared the stage with bass legend Phil Chen, and “The Cult” bassist, Chris Wyse. As well as performing in Strange Days and several original projects, Jason is also very involved in the motion picture industry. Sharing Morrison’s passion for film, he obtained a B.S. degree in Film/Television Production from SDSU. Since then, he has written and directed several shorts and two feature films. He is currently working on a new film as well as new music. ALEXIS ANGEL Ray Manzarek Alexis is a much-saught after session musician in Los Angeles. He has been highly praised by legendary Doors guitarist Robby Krieger for his skill on the keyboard, as well as his ability to reproduce the classic Doors sound on both his Gibson G101 and Vox Continental / Fender Rhodes Bass keyboard setups. Besides having shared the stage with Robby Krieger numerous times, Alexis has also performed with the prodigious bassist Phil Chen, drummer Ty Dennis, and ‘The Cult’ bass player, Chris Wyse. DAVE MADDEN John Densmore Dave has shared the stage with Doors guitarist Robby Krieger, and has been personally acknowledged by Doors drummer John Densmore to his fanbase, complimenting Dave on his drumming ability and the level of detail that he brings to his performances of The Doors music. Dave was one of the first drummers on the Los Angeles tribute scene back in the 80’s, having spent the last 35 years performing on stages across the world. He also studied with drum legend Terry Bozzio during Missing Persons formative years and is endorsed by Terry Bozzio’s signature ATTACK drum heads. Dave is a full time musician, session artist, and singer songwriter residing in San Diego, Ca.
